King’s Dominion Amusement Park in Virginia

King’s Dominion is a fun filled theme park located just outside of Richmond Virginia.  With our grandkids in tow, we braved the rollercoasters and rides for an action packed day. King's Dominion

One of the first things you notice when you enter the park is the lovely landscape and water fountain.  The scene early in the morning is best described as quaint and peaceful. I could easily see myself sitting beside this fountain for a couple of hours, enjoying a book and a cold drink. But the kids were calling for something a little more exciting.King's Dominion

There is something here for everyone.  For the little ones, there are scaled down rides and coasters.King's Dominion

And with Snoopy and Charlie leading the way, you feel like you have just stepped into a Peanuts cartoon.King's Dominion

In the center of the park is a replica of the Eiffel Tower.  The Tower can be seen for miles outside of the park like a beacon to guide you in. From the top of the Tower,  you get a bird’s eye view of the entire park, plus the lush green Virginia countryside . King's Dominion

Of course, the main attraction is the roller coasters. Each one bigger than the next, they loop and twist and twirl and fly through the air. If you love coasters, you need to get to King’s Dominion.King's Dominion

We loved it at King’s Dominion and are looking forward to our next visit. For another look at the park, go here.King's Dominion

Hi, My name is Merry. My daughters are grown and married, and have given me 7 delightful grandchildren to love and spoil. Caught on the cusp of "ready to retire" and "not able to retire just yet", with Social Security checks still looming on the horizon, and with AARP membership notices flooding my mailbox, I have my eyes turned toward the future. When retirement finally finds me, I look forward to more time with my husband of 45 years, more time with family and friends, and more time to simply celebrate a long and happy life. But no need to wait to celebrate, let's start now. Read More…
