Traditional Texas Pecan Pie is a favorite pie served at holiday dinners.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 TBSP margarine melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup pecans broken
  • 1 pie shell

Instructions
 

  • Line pan with pastry or use a frozen pie shell.
  • Spread pecans evenly over the bottom.
  • Beat eggs well. Gradually add sugar, syrup, vanilla, and margarine. Beat well.
  • Pour gently over pecans.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 450 F degrees and then for 30 minutes at 300F degrees.

Notes

For 2 pies, use a 16 oz bottle of syrup.
This pie needs to be refrigerated if kept more than a day. This pie freezes and reheats well, so it can be made ahead of time.
