Traditional Texas Pecan Pie

Traditional Texas Pecan Pie is a favorite pie served at holiday dinners.

- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 3 eggs
- 4 TBSP margarine melted
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup pecans broken
- 1 pie shell
Line pan with pastry or use a frozen pie shell.
Spread pecans evenly over the bottom.
Beat eggs well. Gradually add sugar, syrup, vanilla, and margarine. Beat well.
Pour gently over pecans.
Bake for 10 minutes at 450 F degrees and then for 30 minutes at 300F degrees.
For 2 pies, use a 16 oz bottle of syrup.
This pie needs to be refrigerated if kept more than a day. This pie freezes and reheats well, so it can be made ahead of time.
